You might have heard that the ASO had decided to restict all bikes to 450cc in the 2010 DAKAR. This has now been changed to pro riders having to have a restrictions to 450cc (they can ride more powerful bikes but have to have a restictor on it) and the rest of the riders being able to ride what they want this year. They have published a list of the pro riders needing restrictions on the dakar website. It will be interesting to see whether they still enter and what this will mean in the standings during the event. The organisers plan to ensure that all bikes will be 450s and below by 2011. My thinking at the moment is to go for a Yam 450 WR.
